XO Through The Night EP
Staffordshire producer/song writer Sunil Heera, better known as XO, first came to the scene in early 2013, and is now back with the ‘Through The Night’ EP.
The two track release features one pretty good track ‘Through The Night’ featuring the sumptuous vocals of RobLaw, and one very mediocre track ‘Pulling Me Under’ which would be at home on a Various artists dance compilation. But anyway, let’s get back to ‘Through The Night’. The track has an early noughties feel to it, twisted with a sprinkle of Ben Pearce’s epic ‘What I Might Do’ due to the vocals.
Entering with piano chords, the track almost feels like a Musiq Souldchild remix. With slaps of synths bouncing up and down in a solid riff, and RobLaw’s vocals dancing up and down in an adlib fashion, the electronic pips, blips and womps create an aural fiasco. The track is perfect to show off the capabilities of RobLaw’s vocals, and on hearing his dulcet tones, we can guarantee you’ll be flicking through Soundcloud to hear more of him.
XO has also done a track ‘Holdin’ On’ with RobLaw, which is also solidly good. So perhaps this little partnership should continue…
