10 Things You Need On Your Gap year
What you need to take on your gap year trip
A gap year is an incredible opportunity to explore, adventure and grow; a chance to experience new, weird and wonderful things. A lot of factors can influence your journey and how you find it, and whilst many may well be beyond your control, there are some things that can make the day to day things run that little bit smoother. Here is our list of the items that you will thank us for when you’re in a hostel/ on a long haul bus journey/ on a trek in the jungle, or whatever else you get up to!
1. A Lonely Planet guide, or two.
2. A microfibre travel towel (believe us).
3. Mosquito repellent (and lots of it).
4. Sun cream (burnt is never a good look or feel).
5. Your camera (memories may fade but digital photos last forever).
6. Health and travel insurance (hopefully you won’t need it but better to have it).
7. Eye mask & ear plugs (for all those plane/train/boat journeys at random hours).
8. Wet wipes (for sweat, dirt, and when you get caught short).
9 Jabs before you go (nothing worse than being sick travelling, except maybe time in a foreign hospital).
10. A pen (directions, bus times, cool places to see, your journal, visa cards, you’ll need it).
