Whether you’ve finished uni, are taking a gap year, a sabbatical – or simply love to travel whenever you can, there’s certain places you need to see in your twenties.
From the far corners of South East Asia, to the coolest cities in Europe, roughing it in the depth of South America or taking in the amazing terrain of Australasia, here’s our definitive list of 20 places everyone should visit in their 20s.
First up, it might seem quite an obvious choice, but watching the sunset over this world famous rock, Uluru in Australia, is a photo opportunity that has to be done!
And whilst you’re over that side of the world, then no visit to Australia is complete without a visit to the incredible Kakadu National Park, to take in the incredible landscape and nature.
Delving further south, Castlepoint in New Zealand’s Wellington is a must see for its dramatic formation caused be sea erosion.

For those of you heading off the beaten track, high in the mountain ranges of Kazakhstan in Tian Shan at an altitude of about 1900 meters above sea level, you’ll find this incredible lake that was formed by a mountain collapse and earthquake in 1911, now known as Kaindy Lake.

Somewhere you’ll never forget as long as you live is the so called Door To Hell in Turkmenistan. The door to hell is a natural gas field that has been burning continuously since its discovery in 1971.

45 km north of the town of Farafra, The White Desert in Egypt – also known as Sahara el Beyda – is a national park in Egypt. It is here that you will see the giant chalk rock formations that have been formed by the desert winds over thousands of years.
Yet another stunning natural wonder, Pamukkale in Turkey has to be seen to be believed. This natural site in Denizli Provence, southwestern Turkey has hot springs – despite it’s icy appearance, and is formed from terraces of terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water.
