It’s easy to get used to going to the same places all the time, especially if you’re new to the city. However, Sydney has some amazing experiences to be had, so make these your New Year resolutions and have a fab start to 2016.

Della Hyde

From the guys at Applejack Hospitality, Della Hyde is a brand new venue that pays homage to the grand hotel lobby bars of times gone by. Open from 5pm-3am every night of the week, there’s no slowing down, so you can get a classic cocktail even after midnight on Hump Day! There’s also a Seasonal Drinks List updated every two weeks to keep things fresh and interesting. Oh, and there’s a kitchen dishing up European and North African inspired cuisine from 5-11pm every night of the week.

Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern

Don’t be intimidated by the skulls and beards at Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern. This underground joint is cosy and unpretentious with chatty bartenders, snug leather booths and flowing drinks. If you’re after a party, it can get wild after sundown with ever-changing music from country to hip-hop, but the fun begins way before that when you try to find this basement beauty (behind a blue door on the corner of Park Street Convenience Store).

Henry Deane

Find your new bar-with-a-view in Henry Deane. Located on the rooftop of the recently re-opened Hotel Palisade in Millers Point, the cocktail lounge sprawls across two levels and is adorned with lashings of pink furniture. Most notable though is the view; the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney skyline make the perfect accompaniment to a glass of Champers. Henry Deane is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday – Sunday noon ‘til late.
