Follow us on Google News

Australia is amongst the top destinations that every person wants to visit at least once in their lifetime. It is most famous for its natural wonders and wide-open spaces, deserts, and beaches, as well as some fantastic cities with beautiful architecture. This country is also a great place for people to find work, as it offers many great opportunities. If you are looking for a place where you can make a decent profit and in the meantime travel and explore many places then Australia is the perfect fit for you. Below we’ll list 5 things that you need to know before you work & travel to Australia.

Travel to Western Australia

Plenty of Jobs to Choose From

In Australia, there is a working holiday visa program that gives young people the opportunity to work & travel in Australia for up to 12 months. This program helps the growth of the Australian economy and it also provides young people with some decent pay and a much-needed experience.

The most popular short-term jobs that people often choose in Australia are in the hospitality sector (hotel and hostel employment, bartending, baristas, waiter, etc.) and the agriculture sector. But in recent years, many young people are preferring a job in a safe online casino.

Arranging Your Finances

It is important to estimate your budget when going on a travel adventure. One of the things to keep in mind is to plan the purchase of a plane ticket, a visa, and a subscription to health insurance. Also, the Australian government requests individuals to have at least A$5,000.

You should also plan to set aside a certain amount of money just to ensure your safety during the first weeks in Australia. For accommodation, public transportation, food, and going out, you should plan around A$400 per week. It is important to note that the prices vary depending on the period.

Eating Out Is Quite Expensive

As a follow up to the previous topic, one thing to keep in mind when visiting Australia is to limit your eating out habits, as the foods and drinks in Australia can be very expensive in some places. A cup of coffee can cost you around A$5, while a lunchtime meal can easily go above A$20.

There are certainly cheaper places that you can try out, but they are very limited and mostly located outside the city Centre. It is best if you would prepare a plan for all your meals, where the most dominant meals would be the home-cooked ones.

Australia Has Fantastic Routes for Road Trips

As there are many beaches, beautiful landscapes, deserts, green rainforests, and much more in Australia, many people tend to go on a road trip just to explore and enjoy what nature has to offer. There are many great routes in Australia which are leading to National Parks and coastlines.

The Great Ocean Road which leads from Melbourne to Adelaide is one of the most thrilling drives in Australia. Driving down this iconic route gives you a chance to see a variety of wildlife, ancient lighthouses, and the famous limestone towers called 12 apostles.

You Will Be Paid in Aussie Dollars

During your working and travelling in Australia, you will be earning and spending in the local currency, which is the Aussie dollar. Some jobs will be paid in cash, while others will be conducted through direct deposits or even distributive checks for every pay period.

It is advisable to make a system in advance for where you would store your payments. If you choose to keep it in a local bank, make sure to transfer large amounts of cash periodically back onto your home back account.
