A Weekend In London Bridge
London Bridge is one of the must-visit districts of the English capital, from the ground of the market to the sky-high views from The Shard. With so much to see and do, it’s the perfect spot for a weekend in London, whether to reawaken your love affair with the city or discover something completely new.
Saturday
Morning: Arrive at London Bridge Station, drop your bags off at London Bridge Hotel and escape the crowds with brunch at the Borough Market. With a multitude of British and international cuisine, seafood reigns supreme with Applebee’s Fish, Fish! Restaurant and Wright Brothers Oyster & Porter House.
Afternoon: Take to the river at The Queen’s Walk and explore the nine decks of HMS Belfast. Learn about what life was like for those on board, in Arctic Waters and on D-Day. Continuing on solid ground, catch ‘Assassins’ at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 7th March 2015.
Evening: When the sun is about to set, get the best view in London with drinks at The Shard. Spend your night at London Bridge Hotel, the easy choice for being centrally located from just £99 a night.
Sunday
Morning: Enjoy a delicious, energising breakfast at the hotel before paying a visit to the Design Museum for ‘Women Fashion Power’, exhibiting until 26th April 2015. Browse the nearby boutiques of Andrew Logan and Alex Monroe, because you can’t pass by a spot of shopping in London.
Afternoon: Pick up some bits for a picnic lunch at Potters Fields Park, overlooking the Tower Bridge in one of London’s nicest green spaces. Stroll around the lively streets that even on a Sunday have the odd busker and street demonstration.
Evening: If you’re not yet on your way home, prepare for the journey with a social meal (and a few cheeky drinks) at London Bridge Hotel’s Quarter Bar & Lounge before picking up your bags from the concierge – just don’t forget about your train!
