Band of the Week: NINA
Sorry, who?
Berlin babe, NINA, is who we’re chucking at you this week.
This classically trained diva has been in the biz for most of her life, providing backing vocals for some seriously cool German Pop stars before moving to London to try and take the city.
After giving modelling and dancing a go, she ended up performing for the cool kids of Dalston and Shoreditch where she was snapped up by producers galore and lands at our feet now.
This fully-fledged Electro-Pop gal is ready to show us what she’s got and you won’t be disappointed.
What does she sound like?
She’s like a more liquid, glittery, Goldfrapp with haunting vocals that one could liken to something the XX might produce. Her sound is rich and full of depth but it wouldn’t go amiss at a party where the mood is light and peppy.
NINA’s voice is beautiful; you can really hear her talent shining through over the jingly jangly chimes of the synth layers. That’s what makes her stand out, we think. All too often you you’ll find a really well produced Electro-Pop track which falls just a little short because the vocals aren’t there. All you get with NINA is perfection on every level and we can’t ask for more than that, can we?
What should I listen to?
NINA’s new single, ‘We Are The Wild Ones’, is set for release on the 25th November 2013 through Aztek Records. It’s beautifully simplistic yet complicated at the same time with sumptuous layers of vocals and melody that fit together perfectly with each other. We’re expecting big things for this little lady.
Listen to her new single below to make sure you’re one of the first to know about her. Bragging rights when it comes to discovering new music are never to be underestimated!
