One of the world’s most loved comedians, Billy Connolly will be taking his act on tour through Australia in 2015 and all his fans down under will be excited to hear that his latest tour will have him performing in 11 cities. The entertaining Scot has such a major following in the country and each time he visits with his material the fan base continues to grow due to his enthralling live shows.

Spanning over three decades, Billy Connolly has been bring his audiences to fits of laughter because of his observational humour that looks at the norms of everyday life. Since his first visit to Australia in 1978, Connolly has been returning time and time again with fresh and funnier material that has reached through to people old and young. He experiences sold out shows that increases his following base with new generations of fans.

The great comedian starts 27th January

His humble beginnings saw him earn his keep in the 60s at Glaswegian shipyards as a welder however, making the decision to take a chance at becoming folk singer and banjo player. Billy Connolly was part of Humblebums with Gerry Rafferty (later of Baker Street fame) and then as soloist. His comedic career took off as the jokes that he used to tell in  between each song he played became so popular that Connolly chose to be a full time comedian.

The great comedian has more to his skill set as he appears in several big time films throughout his career from Indecent Proposal (1993) to Mrs. Brown (1997), for which he was nominated for a BAFTA; the all-star Quartet (2012) through to Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) and Gulliver’s Travels (2010) starring Jack Black.
