Single Review: Franz Ferdinand – Love Illumination

Screeching guitar twangs drowned in distortion open Franz Ferdinand’s latest single ‘Love Illumination’ before frontman Alex Karpanos’ trademark vocal drone is introduced. The chorus is simplistic yet insistent and the melodic keyboard breakdown does effectively add a bit of difference to the consistent guitar riff. Franz Ferdinand tracks can sometimes all blend into one and although ‘Love Illumination’ is a good listen, it’s no exception.
