GoodGod Listings – 27th-30th September
One of our favourite little Sydney venues has reached the baby age of a mere two years old! From tonight until Saturday, it’s all going down in the exotic house of fun that is GoodGod Club in Sydney. It should be more than proud of it’s achievements in past two years, because right from that memorable October long-weekend in 2010 GoodGod became a favourite haunt for music-lovers, creatives, and party kids alike. Huge artists have played in it’s Danceteria in that time, Jamie XX, Diplo, Mt Kimbie and Sbtrkt of a few of many.
To celebrate Good God’s birthday we’ve compiled all information you need to get there and join in the party. Whether its for eating, a drink or dancing until 5am we can guarantee you’ll have a good-god-fantastic weekend.

Now that Melbourne funk band The Cactus Channel have graduated high school, they’re taking their own brand of high-octane, instrumental car chase funk and smooth soundtrack soul to the people with their debut album Haptics.

We are turning two years old this September long weekend. And to celebrate, GoodGod Birthday Nights mini- festival returns with two full venue parties collecting Goodgod’s essential acts of 2012.
Saturday is a crazy eclectic 10-act Smash Hits bandstand. We are really excited to catch My Disco’s minimal art-rock intensity, the brain-melting wall-of-sound of The Laurels, the percussive 6-piece heat-beat funk of Melbourne’s No Zu as they launch their new album. But every band on the line-up is deserving of the venue’s seal of approval, Songs are playing with their incredible new line-up, Canberra’s balls-out tropical punks The Fighting League get wild plus Bloods, Dark synth-wavers DCM, Melbourne’s Pop Singles and Client Liaison, and Dolly Rocker Movement’s Daniel Darling will perform a one-off organ dance project!
Plus! No Fixed Address!
To trace back some of the roots of all the garage rock we’ve been seeing over the last year, we have invited Bart Willoughby and Selwyn Burns, to play the music of No Fixed Address the legendary Indigenous reggae-punk band that they first formed in 1978. Bart’s urgent, earnest and insightful music led No Fixed Address to be the first Aboriginal band to ever tour overseas in 1982, sharing the stage across Europe with the likes of The Clash,Peter Tosh and Ian Dury. This will be an incredible one-off performance!
And to top it off, The Dip will be serving up Birthday cake and special birthday treats – pluto pups, deep fried cola and more!
What: Happy Birthday to GoodGod!
When: Saturday 29th September, starting early at 6pm.
Where: You’ve totally lost the plot if need to remind you. GoodGod!
Price: Their asking for $22, because basically there isn’t a better place to be in Sydney this Saturday!

Sunday‘s all-star bonanza marks the occasion where all of Goodgod’s resident club nights get together to help let your hair down and make a toast with the extended friends and family that make Goodgod what it is! Headlining is the big occasion GoodGod House Band presented Siberia Records and lead by Midnight Juggernaut’s Daniel Stricker. The band play energetic garage rock covers of classic dance hits with Stricker organising surprise special guest vocalists for each song! Last year saw Ed Banger’s SebAstian on stage lending his vocals for a blistering rendition of Scatman! Cyber shaman of left field groove Michael Ozone makes the trip up from Melbourne. Plus all the DJs, party starters, and shape throwers that make the club what it is.
