The Gum Ball Festival 2016 in Dashville, Hunter Valley is set to be huge this April. A celebration for all music lovers, the festival has been built from the ground up, providing the ultimate live music experience for all. With amazing artists including: The Cactus Channel, Dan Brodie, The HeartBrokers, Folktronica innovator Caitlin Park and headliner You Am I, The Gum Ball has an undoubtedly powerful line- up.

Here are our hot picks and artists to look out for at this year’s festival…

Dan Sultan
With a voice like no other, Dan Sultan can pull off both acoustic ballads and big-band soul rock. His diversity makes him a perfect artist for a festival like Gum Ball. Expect a powerhouse performer with a sweet and rough tone, encouraging all the crowd. Dan Sultan is receiving music praise in the music world, with support from legends including Bruce Springsteen. The only direction Sultan is set to venture is up.

Suzannah Espie
With a unique blend of country, folk, blues and soul, Suzannah Espie has a truly magical sound. Her ability to move someone to tears in one moment, and set the party on re in the next proves she is one talented singer. Expect Melbourne’s voice of an angel to put on an extremely top class show at Gumball this year.

Jeff Lang
What a dynamic and creative talent this guy is. Based in Oz himself, Lang has become renowned for being a virtuosic guitarist. His gift for songwriting has elevated his success; performing unique gigs all round the world. Already having 15 albums under his belt, Jeff Lang has been playing at clubs, art centers and festivals for ten years. He has mastered the skill of blending rock, folk, blues and that tricky improvisation into one amazing set. He’s insane.

Citizen Kay
This Sydney hip-hop star deserves all the credit he can get. Citizen Kay is a self-taught rapper who battled the realities of the music world, only to learn the art
of making memorable beats. His success reached new heights, as he recorded to tour with incredible artists including Wiz Khalifa and Ice Cube. Give his standout singles a listen, these include ‘Raise A Glass’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘If Life gives you Lemons’, while his debut mini-album is called ‘DEMOKRACY’.

Bullhorn
Gumball is about offering you music with a difference, and that’s what you get with Bullhorn. The brass-based and MC-led nine-piece party animal are kitted out in suited with crazy arrangements. Enjoy their virtuosic musicianship and upbeat rhymes. With their own catchy original tunes and covers including Bonobo and Easy Star All Stars, be ready for a soul-filled time of fun.
