J Ward Lunatic Asylum Ghost Tour Old MelbourneGet stuck into these Halloween events for a trick-or-treat 31st October in Melbourne!

Halloween at the Haunted House
Sometimes it’s difficult to find the balance between a good night out on Halloween and a seriously terrifying experience. At Halloween at the Haunted House, head down to the chilling ghostly chalet, which was built in the 1920’s and is well-known for its supernatural presence. Once you’ve explored the haunted chalet, make your way outside into the gardens for some shockingly scary surprises wherever you turn. In the graveyard you’ll find a bar and a free BBQ where you can have a drink to calm your nerves. Stay on guard, as there’s probably going to be roaming zombies ready to frighten the life out of you. If you turn up feeling underdressed, there will be free SPFX make-up and body art available. So join DJ Nathan Op De Coul and Graveyard Rockstars for a night of pure terror. Tickets cost $30, doors are open from 9pm and stay open late into the night.

Cinema Nova
For something a little different this Halloween, head to Cinema Nova, where they are putting on a double feature of cult classics. On Friday 25th Cinema NovaOctober, you are guaranteed to leave the place shaking in fear after catching some original scary movies. At 9.45pm, sit down and brace yourself for ‘The Beyond’, an Italian horror movie from the 80s. With CGI taking over our modern screens, it’s always terrifyingly refreshing to see some gore in all its glory. If you’re in the mood for zombies, acid-induced face melting and angry mobs, then this one’s for you. This film will leave you questioning your sanity then vacating the premises as a glorified member of the walking dead. At 11.30pm, the second edition of this Halloween double feature is ‘City of the Living Dead’, another Lucio Fulci creation. Fancy some more zombies? Then this is perfect. It begins with a priest committing suicide and opening a big can of worms. These are bizarre, spooky and fantastically typical of 1980’s horror movies.
