Have A Fraser Island Adventure
Camp on the beach, swim in crystal clear lakes and walk through the rainforest on Fraser Island.
A unique island off the coast of Queensland, Fraser Island offers the most authentic adventure. Covered in thick rainforest growing out of sand, dotted with more than 100 freshwater lakes and home to some seriously weird and wonderful wildlife, if you’re offered the chance to embark on a wilderness camping safari on Fraser Island, you grab it with both hands.
Drop Bear Adventures provides such an experience over three days. Visiting the many attractions on Fraser Island and then some, you’ll get to swim in the vivid waters of Lake McKenzie, which is so pure that no animal on the island could live in it; hike through Central Station Rainforest, which grows out of the sand; and let the flow of Eli Creek carry you down stream.
You’ll also get to learn about the history of the island with a visit to Maheno Shipwreck, abandoned and rusting on the shore, as well as Aboriginal culture, with a chance to sample delicacies, learn to play a didgeridoo and come to know Fraser Island as K’gari, meaning “paradise”.
Within a small group and your amazing Drop Bear guide, camping on Fraser Island is a pretty awesome experience in itself. With beach fishing at sunset, you can play games such as giant Jenga or cricket, listen to the strumming of a guitar around camp, or just chill out with an ice-cold beer straight of the cool box. And if there’s wet weather expected during your night, you can get a free upgrade to Drop Bear’s Beach House Hostel! Whether you’re camping or staying at the hostel, you’ll get a memorable couple of nights sleep, ready for whatever the next day brings!
All of this plus courtesy pick-up from your accommodation, meals, 4WD transport and a free Facebook photo album for just $465 all-inclusive!
