If you’re looking for a fun weekend away from the city, then the Hunter Valley provides just this.

Situated just over two hours away from Sydney, The Hunter Valley is easily accessible being just over two-hours drive from the city. If you don’t fancy driving then catch a bus into Hunter Valley, or take a train to nearby Newcastle, Maitland or Morisset. If travelling from further away, Cessnock airport isn’t far away.

New South Wales is home to some of Australia’s most beautiful landscapes, monuments and national parks, included in them is Hunter Valley. Originally famous for its vineyards and picturesque rolling hills it has become home to one of the biggest amphitheatres, the must-visit Hope Estate.

Hope Estate holds up to 20,000 visitors and will be holding this year’s Campfire Festival, in its impressive surroundings. This year, the line up includes beloved blues acts John Butler Trio, Ash Grunwald, Lee Kernaghan, country singers Kasey Chambers, The Mclymonts and pop performer Wendy Matthews, plus many more.

The beauty of the valley can really be experienced with Hope Estate giving 5,000 festivalgoers to the Campfire Festival 2015 the opportunity to camp in the Valley itself, meaning for three days they can be embedded in the winning beauty of Hunter Valley.

Where to eat?
Other than the Harvest Restaurant, Hunter Valley is home to some of the most tasty and exclusive restaurants in New South Wales. One of them being Blaxlands Inn, giving guests a beautiful and homely experience with a backdrop of sweeping hills, vineyard and lakes. Guests can enjoy the finest steaks and home-cooked foods; all locally brewed Blaxland beer on tap and an open fire pit.

Where to drink?
Other than exploiting the winery, you can enjoy a night out in one of Hope Estate bars, offering different entertainment throughout the year. During events such as the Campfire Festival 2015 the bar will be transformed into a camper’s bar, where songwriters can jam, there’ll be Q&A forums and guitar clinics. The bar sells locally brewed beer and wine as well as national favourites.

What else to do?
The Hunter Valley is full of exciting and new things to do, so if you are finding yourself wanting to take a break from the event, you can captivate yourself with organic wine tasting in one of the vineyards a great one being Hope’s vineyard, try your hand at trekking and take a walk along the astills trail and see some of Australia’s fascinating greenery and wildlife, visit the Maitland Market (on selected days) to buy some local hand made crafts, relax and play a round of golf with friends, or go exploring and visit the famous narrow place lookout and take in the views. If feeling more adventurous, take a plane ride to really see everything the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Hope Estate gives everyone an all round experience, if wanting to take a break from the Campfire Festival 2015 you can be sure to have plenty to do, anything visiting famous land marks, to eating food from the world-renowned Chef Mert Tansu at the Harvest Restaurant who always cooks up a storm of elegant and exclusive food, and of course finally the finishing touch all enjoyed with a glass of wine from the nationally famous winery.
