Katy Perry’s Album Prism Is Banned From Australia
It seems the people of Australia really aren’t impressed with Katy Perry’s latest album release, as ‘Prism’ seems to be deemed so bad it’s now been banned from the country!
Well, maybe that’s not quite the real reason…
According to the Guardian, the country have taken such extreme steps against the Pop Princess’ new release as the artwork for the album contains seed paper, which Katy supposedly encourages her fans to plant and “spread the light” to commemorate her album. Although a slightly cheesy idea, it’s actually the threat that this poses to Australia’s biologically-unique ecosystem that’s really the reason for its banishment.
Australia, being renowned for its unparalleled biodiversity and strict customs policy, was reassured by Ms Perry’s production company that the release contained local seeds which supposedly would cause no threat to the country. However, the Australian album is more expensive at $24.99, so country officials worry residents may be tempted to order cheaper imports off of sites like eBay – where the American version sells at around $19.
With this in mind, let’s just hope the Australian customs department decide to let the album back onto their shelves sometime in the near future – or they might find themselves on the receiving end of hearing Katy ROAR!
