Kimberley Writers Festival Kununurra, WA 7 to 9 September 2018

The Kimberley Writers Festival returns to Kununurra in Australia’s North West from 7 to 9 September 2018. This one-of-a-kind readers and writers festival is held in one of Australia’s most stunning and remote locations, providing an opportunity to meet authors and special guests in a friendly and informal environment. It’s a completely different experience to big city writers festivals.

Now in its 13th year, the 2018 program will include free workshops, readings, a literary breakfast, music, and comedy. The annual Sunday Ord River Cruise champagne brunch and storytelling returns, and is usually a sell-out.

Guests at this year’s Kimberley Writers Festival include national bestselling romance author Fiona Palmer; DC and Marvel Comics writer Shane McCarthy; documentary maker, bush tukka advocate and published writer Samantha Martin; Fulbright scholar, award-winning Indonesian novelist and childhood education advocate Ahmad Fuadi; storyteller extraordinaire Glenn B Swiftand internationally-selling award-winning Victorian author Anne Crawford.

The festival is supported by writingWA with funds provided by State Government through the Departments of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Primary Industries and Regional Development and the Royalties for Regions program.
What: The Kimberley Writers Festival is for lovers of stories, poetry, fiction, biography, children’s books, illustration, photography, comedy, comics, non-fiction, Indigenous culture, and nature. The three-day event includes both free and ticketed events.
When: Friday 7 to Sunday 9 September 2018.
Who: Storytellers from many walks of life coming together to share a common passion with booklovers.
Where: In and around Kununurra in Western Australia’s iconic East Kimberley region in a variety of locations.
