Maribou State To DJ Down Under
British duo Maribou State (aka Chris Davids and Liam Ivory) are set for a whirlwind Australasian DJ tour this coming New Year’s period to play festivals in New Zealand and Melbourne.
This tour comes hot on the heels of their 2015 release ‘Portraits’, a record which saw them receive widespread acclaim for their organic sounding electronica, and drew them comparisons to the likes of Mount Kimbie and James Blake. They have worked hard to develop their sound in the studio, as DJ’s and as a live act; perfectly combining the deep dynamics and endless possibilities of electronic music with the richness and authenticity of live instruments. Their recent BBC Radio 1 monthly residency have also shown that they are selectors of note, and have been hugely popular online.
Maribou State will join Chance the Rapper, RÜFÜS, Kimbra and more to play New Zealand’s huge Rhythm and Vines Festival on Saturday 31st December, after which they go to the Let Them Eat Cake Festival in Melboune on Sunday 1st January to join Dusky, Cut Chemist, Mano Le Tough and more.
