Germany’s Mat.Joe will finally return for one weekend after a 2 year absence from Australia’s borders. Not only will they play Down Under, but they will also travel to Auckland for their debut New Zealand visit in what is a highly overdue booking.
The duo, known as Matze and Johannes to their parents (get it… Mat.Joe), have been on fire of late with a whole host of remixes and originals. They are regular visitors on the Beaport charts with their dancefloor-friendly tech house weapons, and as DJs they have turned into bona fide main room headliners. Starting off in the world of hip hop, rap and street culture have imbued their productions with a unique sound which is fun and infectious, or as they like to call it: crispy house beats paired with rhythmic soul and hip hop elements to deliver a deep and dancefloor-qualified sound. Their distinctive Mat.Joe sound has resulted in them having tracks signed to credible house and techno labels like Lost, Katermukke, Mother, Hot Creations and Suara.
The tour will start on Friday the 20th of May at Perth’s Geisha Bar, before they head to the Australian east coast on Saturday 21st of May for a show at Home nightclub (alongside Geordie selector Cristoph). They will then fly further south on Sunday 22nd of May for a day party at Melbourne’s (and Australia’s) most infamous club Revolver, after which they will fly to New Zealand on Friday the 27th May for their debut show in Auckland at Neck of the Woods (one of the cities best venues for credible dance music).
