The Roast Kitchen
The best roast in Melbourne… or it’s free! Apparently. Aptly named, this little gem in Kew is a winner when it comes to roast dinners. For $19.50 (or $27 if you want to go large) it’s great value too. Beef, pork, lamb, chicken; this place has a range of meats for you to choose from all served with steamed vegetables, roast potatoes, and their very own red wine gravy. There’s also a vegetarian option and you can eat in or take away. And if that wasn’t enough, it has a BYO policy. So, when are you going?

Reddy Roasts
Here’s a thing – have you ever thought about getting a take-away roast dinner? Picture the scene: it’s a cold Monday evening and the rain is lashing at the window. There’s nothing in the fridge and you don’t want to leave the warmth of your home to buy some grub. Reddy Roasts is the answer. The price for a roast dinner ranges from $9.90 (small) to $16.50 (large) and the dinner is delivered to your house with seasonal veg and their special gravy, piping hot. It’s healthy, nutritious fast food (we didn’t think we’d ever say that).
There are five different Reddy Roasts locations, so check the website for your local.

The Elephant and Wheelbarrow
From 12pm – 4pm every Sunday you can get a cracking roast dinner at The Elephant and Wheelbarrow. Boasting a traditional English menu, this pub goes all out with its carvery, with the standard British procedure of paying a set price and then filling up your plate with as much food as possible. Each carvery comes with a complimentary half pint of Guinness, house wine or soft drink. We recommend booking ahead with this place as it’s quite popular.
