My 4-Step Skin-Care Routine Since Moving to Australia

Follow us on Google News

If you’re new to skincare or need a periodic refresh, here are four items that you should be using in your everyday regimen. They don’t need to be fancy or expensive; they need to be things that genuinely work for your specific skin type.

There are a lot of confusing buzz words, but it basically comes down to using soap and water, sunscreen, and maybe some acne medication. Read on to learn more.

Cleanser

Cleansing is a basic hygienic procedure to remove extra oil, makeup, sunscreen, and sweat. Using a cleanser as the first step in your process allows dirt and oil to be bundled and washed off with water, consequently leaving the skin clean.

No matter their skin type, everyone should be using a cleanser at least once a day. I recommend using it at night, as your skin accumulates oil and dirt throughout the day. However, cleanse in the morning if you have acne or want a clean face.

Skinfix Australia is the perfect place to start a new skincare routine.

Serum or Treatment Product

This is where things get a little more complicated, but I’m going to try and keep it simple.

If you want to keep your skincare routine modest, think of your most extensive skin condition and pick a treatment product that helps to target that particular need.

For example, if you’re concerned about pigmentation, try trying a Vitamin C serum. On the other hand, if you’re concerned about acne, consider a spot treatment.

Serums are fantastic since they’re the workhorses of the skincare process. They contain concentrated chemicals that work to treat your most significant skincare concerns. So, nine times out of 10, this is the thing you should probably be seeking to invest in.

If it’s a serum, you should use it just before your moisturizer. Apply it, let it sink in for a few minutes, and then moisturize. But if it’s something like a spot treatment for acne, apply it last. If you use it sooner, you’ll move the product around rather than maintain it on the pimple.

Moisturizer

A moisturizer contains substances that hold water in the skin’s outer layers and help strengthen the skin barrier. To put it very simply, a moisturizer keeps your skin, well, moisturized.

Therefore, a moisturizer is essential to keep your skin working at its optimum. But remember, getting the ideal moisturizer for you comes down to desire and your skin type.

For example, if you have oily skin, you’d want to go for a gel moisturizer (since it’s lighter), while folks with dry skin might choose a cream moisturizer since it’s a little heavier.

SPF

Sunscreen blocks UV rays to stop them from hurting the skin. And why do we worry about that? Because 70 to 90 percent of the visual indicators of aging are caused by UV damage (not to mention skin malignancies and melanoma) (not to say skin cancers and melanoma). So basically, always apply it.
