New Purifier App Makes Music Social
Social Media Apps have a cool new cousin, because Social Music Platform Purifier have officially launched their first free app, the aptly named ‘Purifier’, which “lets music find you”. How? By gathering content from over 20,000 music ‘sources’ that give the latest information on new and loved artists. Users simply pick their favourite artists to follow, and a few music sources, updates from each then appear on a news feed.
To us, this sounds great. You wouldn’t necessarily spend hours trawling every music site out there on the off chance there’s some new info on one of your favourite artists, but equally their personal twitters are often just that, personal. This app condenses all the relevant information and delivers it in an easy to access way.
There’s a big emphasis on fans here too, it isn’t all about the industry experts. Users have the chance to interact with each other through the ‘discover’ feature, which gives suggestions based on their current profiles about artists, sources, and other users they might have an interest in.
This offers a way to personalise and customise music in a way that up until now hasn’t been possible, and there are exciting updates in the works that will enhance this further, with an intuitive streaming service, social blogging service and a music events guide to ensure the physical presence of great music isn’t forgotten.
So if music plays a big part in your life, this is one app that will prove not only useful, but a sociable tool that allows you to connect and discover likeminded people and new artists. Who are you going to follow first?
