Pitch Music & Arts 2019 Roll Out Arts Program

The Pitch Music & Arts festival in Victoria is only in its third year but has in that time become one of the country’s best. Its musical lineup is comparable to any international music festival, and the location of the Grampians mountain range is as impressive. This year, the festival will place an extra emphasis on its visual arts programme.

This year the side of the event will be curated by their Creative Director Peter Deering alongside local artist Nic Hamilton. The duo’s programme is a step into the digital realm, aiming to align visual artists with the soundtrack of the festival. As Peter Deering explains: ‘This will be the first step toward growing and developing an arts programme that in time will hopefully sit us alongside festivals such as Mutek, Berlin Atonal and Day for Night.

Collectively, the stable of visual artists have collaborated with acts such as Kelela, Evian Christ, Actress, and Hudson Mohawke, record labels such as Warp, LuckyMe and Night Slugs, brands such as Balenciaga, Alexander Wang and Red Bull Music Academy, exhibited at galleries such as Centre Georges Pompidou, Berlin Academy of Art, Gropius Bau Berlin and festivals such as Berlin Atonal, Sonar and Day for Night. ’
