Sam Smith Announces New Single ‘Stay With Me’

Paving the way for his highly anticipated debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’, soulful singer-songwriter Sam Smith will drop his sophomore solo single ‘Stay With Me’ on May 18th, 2014.

With a jam-packed schedule filled to brim with upcoming projects for the singer, the last six months have previously seen Sam top the coveted BBC Sound Poll whilst also bagging himself the BRITs Critics Choice Award, marking him as the first ever winner to claim a number one spot with his first single; ground-breaking hit ‘Money On My Mind’.

This year has also presented Sam with success beyond his wildest dreams, flying him across the Atlantic for a monumental performance on Jimmy Fallon with Disclosure, sell-out show dates in both LA and New York, a top spot at SXSW and even a huge performance on Saturday Night Live in the pipeline.

Fresh new track ‘Stay With Me’ does well to banish any doubts haters might have, showcasing Sam’s impressive vocal talents to perfection. The heart-breaking ballad is a weeper, talking of unrequited love and unfulfilled longing, yet the soft and soulful tone of the track is sure to cement it as a future favourite among fans.

With the single set to stir up hype for the impending release of album ‘In The Lonely Hour’, fans can expect to hear future tracks featuring a range of established artists, including Fraser T Smith, Two Inch Punch, Eg White, Disclosure, Zane Lowe and Tourist, plus also long-term writing partner Jimmy Napes.

In the meantime, Sam will continue to play to sell-out crowds, following a recent tour in the UK and further future dates across Europe and North America set. His summer calendar is also brimming with performances across a range of festivals, including Bestival, T in the Park, V Fest, London’s Roundhouse and even a show at Somerset House, which sold out in just a matter of hours.
