The Brand New Heavies Announce Second Melbourne Tour Date
Due to popular demand, The Brand New Heavies will be performing a second Melbourne show at Prince Bandroom in St Kilda on Tuesday September 11.
Their first Melbourne date at Trak Lounge Bar on Friday September 7 is all but sold out, with tickets in Brisbane and Sydney not far behind.
The Brand New Heavies tour will feature all four original members, celebrating a milestone 21st birthday for the band. With a career ticking over two decades, TBNH were instrumental in the development of the London based acid jazz scene, with other notable long standing career artists such as Jamiroquai and Incognito. The Heavies spearheaded the movement both in UK and America throughout the ‘90s where they notched up a string of Top 20 hits with tracks such as – Never Stop, Stay This Way, Dream on Dreamer and Sometimes.
In 2005 and after a decade apart, the original Heavies – Jan, Andrew, Simon and N’Dea reformed in New York. The band released a critically acclaimed new album in 2006 entitled Get Used To It, and have been touring almost continuously since then.
Tickets for the second Melbourne show are available from Moshtix and Prince Bandroom from Tuesday August 28 at 9am.
