Current Location: UK
Occupation: Programme Manager for a worldwide humanitarian NGO
Best place you’ve been to this year: Apo Island, Negros Oriental, Philippines – you’re almost guaranteed to be able to swim with turtles who feed just offshore, plus there are fantastic beaches and friendly locals. You may be lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins on the boat trip there too!
Best cold place you’ve ever been to: Hokkaido, Japan – black volcanic beaches, snowcapped mountains, plus plenty of hot onsen to soak in after long days outdoors.
Best beach you’ve laid on: Mawun Beach, Lombok, Indonesia – the most perfect sand in the most picturesque cove, and the best part is you’ll probably only share the beach with 10 other people.
Most dangerous place you’ve been to: Lagos, Nigeria – I was on a work trip, so didn’t see much of the city but heard the horror stories, plus the ‘security guard’ who was manning my floor of the hotel stole money from my room.
A place you’re yet to discover: Iceland – it’s been a dream for a long time, and in a couple of weeks I’m finally going there – can’t wait!
