The Mars Volta Announce New Album ‘Noctourniquet’
American Prog-Rockers The Mars Volta have announced the release of their new album ‘Noctouriquet,’ which will hit stores on March 27 2012. This news comes shortly after the announcement that Bixler-Zavala and Rodriguez-Lopez’s previous band, seminal Post-Hardcore outfit ‘At The Drive-In’ announced their reformation for a series of festivals and shows in 2012, although so far only the Coachella Festival has been official announced.
‘Noctouriquet’ follows in the same fashion as previous Mars Volta albums: it will be a heavily concept laden record which will tell the story of a character inspired by the Superman villain Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus.
This will be the sixth studio release from The Mars Volta, coming three years after the release of their last album ‘Octahedron’ in 2009.
The track listing for Noctourniquet by The Mars Volta is as follows:
“The Whip Hand”
“Aegis”
“Dyslexicon”
“Empty Vessels Make the Loudest Sound”
“The Malkin Jewel”
“Lapochka”
“In Absentia”
“Imago”
“Molochwalker”
“Trinkets Pale of Moon”
“Vedemalady”
“Noctourniquet”
“Zed and Two Naughts”
Noctourniquet by The Mars Volta will be released on March 27th 2012.
