We’d recommend the sampler platter, a great alternative to a full meal if you’re sharing with a friend. For just $10 you will be served pork belly with apple and cranberry compote, vegemite salt calamari, two pancetta balls, two Buffalo wings and two servings of polenta chips; a platter certain to satisfy appetite and wallet! With the freshest and finest ingredients inspired from the golden age of Australia (the ’60s), free range pork and native Australian bush herbs; you can be sure that whatever you choose will make a delectable meal.
If it’s been a tiring day and you’d rather opt for a drink at home rather than at a bar, the Shaw Davey Slum also serves a wide selection of white and red wines as well as draught to take-away at their Bottleo, from Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet Merlot. For those ready to socialise, head to the bar and indulge in an innovative cocktail inspired by a childlike sweet tooth. The Slum Cocktails are classic childhood deserts blended with a pinch of alcohol. The Barney Banana Ice-cream Float, for instance, has the sweet taste of banana with a caramel finish; with Jim Beam Rye whisky, banana tincture and caramel sauce this concoction sounds almost too good to be true! The Mulled Ribena, comprising warm spice and boozy sweetness, made from Ribena, cinnamon, honey water and Ballantine also sounds heavenly!
