Skydiving Companies

So you think you haven’t cheated death enough in your lifetime, why not jump out of an airplane? Good for you, but here is a quick rundown you might want to consider: You start to re-evaluate your decision as you climb to 14,000 feet above all those people, cars and buildings that were a lot closer just a few minutes before.

The instructor harnessed to your back is calm, most of them do this five days a week; skydiving sometimes twice a day. The sound of the engines gets considerably louder when they open the door summon you to come forward. This is the moment when the panic hits you and you realize you’re about to jump out into that wild blue yonder and all that’s left for you to do is start laughing and screaming at the same time.

If any nationality in the world understands your desire to go skydiving, it’s the Aussies. Australia has a number of different companies that can take care of your desire to skydive. The country also has some of the most beautiful terrain to look at while you drop at over 220 km per hour.

Skydiving Scenery

If you’re in Sydney or any city along the coast, the most beautiful place to skydive is just along the ocean. You can skydive over places like Mission Beach, Penrith Lakes, Byron Bay, Cairns and others. There are a number of different companies to take you to different spots in and around the city’s beaches. Many of these skydiving companies offer free transport back and forth from the city to the take-off site.

Tandem or Solo Skydiving

Even if you have jumped before, it’s best to do a tandem jump with a certified instructor. If you want to jump by yourself, you have to be licensed and with the cost of insurance, it can be quite expensive. The cost of the tandem skydive depends on a couple of things like the company you choose to go with, the height at which you choose to jump from, the day of the week you are available to go on and whether or not you want pictures or a DVD of your skydive. If you’d like to watch your cheeks look like they are about to be pulled off your face and listen to yourself scream like an old woman on a rollercoaster, we recommend you get the DVD. However just for the jump, with no extras included, the prices run between $280 to $340. Pictures are usually $100 and DVDs are $140, with package deals making each significantly cheaper.

Skydiving in Australia is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life and though it may seem scary beforehand, once you’ve gently touched the ground, you’ll be ready to go again.
