If you’re in Dublin on 17th March you will be there at the best time of year, because this is of course, St Patrick’s Day.

If you’re in Dublin on St Patrick’s Day you should head to Parnell Square to secure yourself a spot for the famous St. Patrick`s Day Parade, which makes its way through the city centre. Throughout Dublin there will be plenty of local singing and dancing and this day in Dublin is truly a once-in-a-life-time experience not to be missed!

An absolute sea of green encompasses Dublin and celebrations carry on well into the evening. If you visit St Dublin for St Patrick’s Day you will have plenty of opportunity to listen to live traditional Irish music as it is performed in almost every pub and bar throughout the whole city.

Other options for people to consider is to get on a walking tour of the city to take in all the sights. Everyone who goes to Dublin, be it for St Patrick’s Day or just any time of the year in general, should take a tour of the famous Guinness Storehouse, where you can watch and learn how the famous drink is brewed before tasting a sample yourself. You can even take part in the Guinness Connoisseur Experience, the Guinness Storehouse’s luxurious bar-lounge, for a 75-minute tasting session!

Alternatively, you might want to explore the galleries, museums and shops and watch all the iconic buildings, which have been ‘greened up’ for St Patrick’s Day festivities. In the evening hit the Temple Bar area for some lively Irish nightlife. Seriously, you will probably not find more drinking establishments in one particular small area in any other place in the World!

The biggest and best thing to do for St Patrick’s Day in Dublin is just simply make sure you have a pint of beer or Guinness, dance the jig and stand on tables and get wild in the home of Ireland’s biggest festival.

One of the easiest ways to enjoy St Patrick’s Day in Dublin is to join one of the many tours on offer and FOMO Travel has some information on a few of the great tour operators who operate tours to Dublin for St Patrick’s Day.
