Things to do on Fraser Island: Eli Creek
This can get really busy during peak times, but is definitely worth seeing, so make sure to plan this part of your trip well. This creek is filled with water so clear, you’ll forget you’re standing in water.
The reason it’s so clear is because it has spent the last 1000 years being filtered with sand. You can go swimming, have a paddle or even have a go at tubing here.
Things to do on Fraser Island: Maheno Shipwreck
For those who want to see a bit of history while on the island, you must stop at Maheno Shipwreck. One of the most photographed parts of the island, this wreck is a former luxury liner and WWI hospital ship that was washed ashore in 1935 when a cyclone knocked her off course to Japan.
For obvious reasons, you can’t go inside the ship but there are plenty of photo opportunities all around it, provided the tide is on your side that day!
