Things to do on Fraser Island: Eurong Beach Resort

No trip to Fraser Island is complete without a trip to this resort. Situated on the east coast of the island, you are only a few steps away from 75 Mile Beach. Because of where this resort is located, you will be witness to spectacular sunrises, which you can watch from the comfort of the resort, or even from the beach itself.

Things to do on Fraser Island: Eli Creek

This can get really busy during peak times, but is definitely worth seeing, so make sure to plan this part of your trip well. This creek is filled with water so clear, you’ll forget you’re standing in water.
The reason it’s so clear is because it has spent the last 1000 years being filtered with sand. You can go swimming, have a paddle or even have a go at tubing here.

Things to do on Fraser Island: Maheno Shipwreck

For those who want to see a bit of history while on the island, you must stop at Maheno Shipwreck. One of the most photographed parts of the island, this wreck is a former luxury liner and WWI hospital ship that was washed ashore in 1935 when a cyclone knocked her off course to Japan.
For obvious reasons, you can’t go inside the ship but there are plenty of photo opportunities all around it, provided the tide is on your side that day!

Things to do on Fraser Island: The Pinnacles

Just north from the shipwreck, you will come across some sandy cliffs which will take your breath away. Completed made from sand, this cliffs really are a sight to behold, with hundreds of different colours making up the base of the cliffs.
It’s a true desert landscape in Nambung National Park, named after the weathered rock spires of the Pinnacles rise out of yellow sand dunes. The shrubs interspersed will make you forget you’re looking at piles of sand.

Things to do on Fraser Island: Indian Head

This coastal headland is definitely one to visit if you enjoy taking in panoramic views of the sea. One of only three sections of rock on the island, it will feel strange to have your feet on ‘dry’ land again but it’s definitely worth it.
This is also a great spot for whale watching – see how many Humpbacks you can spot while you’re here!
Go whale Watching Hervey Bay
Of course, these are only a few places that we’ve chosen on Fraser Island. If we listed them all, we’d simply never stop. To experience it yourself you have to go there. Trust us, once you’ve been you’ll want to come back again and again.
