Top 12 Music Moments of 2012

It’s that time of the year again when we all take a look back through our fondest memories of the last 12 months.
This was the year that dead rappers came back to life, it was our time to shine with Olympic glory, or not so much depending how you look at it, the most famous of bands returned to our stereo’s, and there was that band named after a Mac keyboard shortcut.

Here’s our Top 12 Music Moments Of 2012, as well as a couple of rubbish ones, for you to reminisce and remember the good and the bad from this most excellent year.

Tupac Was Brought Back From The Dead
Whether-or-not you loved it or hated it, you’ve got to admit, his surprise appearance at Cochella was pretty cool.

The Rolling Stones Returned
Even with the ludicrous ticket prices, we were all super happy to see them alive again.

This video saw the South African rap duo having a bitter dispute with Lady GaGa via Twitter. I’m not sure why? I thought it was awesome!

Stevie Wonder’s Closing Set At Bestival
Can you think of a better way to end 4 days of incredible music?

Alt-J (?)
They came out of nowhere, mesmerized the entire world with their songs, and won the Mercury Prize. Not bad for a band whom you’d never heard of 12 months ago. Read our interview with Alt J.

Not because it has an obscene album cover, but for the fact that they went against their labels consent and gave the whole thing away for free. It may have resulted in the group getting dropped by Epic, but it showed us that there’s still hope in major label artists.
