Hop on Hop off Exmouth – Swim with whale sharks
The whale shark is giant, with a maximum length of nearly 18 meters (59 feet). On the other hand, the majority of specimens studied weighed around 15 tons (14 metric tons) and measured around 12 meters (39 feet) in length. The colouring of the body is distinct. On a dark background, light vertical and horizontal stripes form a checkerboard design, while light spots denote the fins and dark regions of the body.

Exmouth was chosen as WA’s top town of the year and Australia’s #8 town. Exmouth is a one-hour and 45-minute flight from Perth or a two-day drive away, where you can join eco safari expeditions and game fishing charters or explore at your speed on a self-drive holiday.

Best Places To Dive With The Whale Sharks (Exmouth & Coral Coast)
Hop on Hop off Perth to Exmouth. The whale shark is a filter feeder – one of only three known filter-feeding shark species (along with the basking and megamouth sharks). It feeds on plankton, including copepods, krill, fish eggs, Christmas Island red crab larvae and small nektonic life, such as small squid or fish. It also feeds on clouds of eggs during the mass spawning of fish and corals.
