Who to catch at The Grass is Greener Festival 2018
Following on from last year’s success, Northern Queensland’s much loved much-loved festival returns this October with possibly their biggest line up to date.
Located in the stunning Cairns Showground’s in tropical Northern Queensland, the festival will take place on Saturday, October 27th.
Australia’s far northerners seldom get international artists playing on their shores, and as a result they have a real love affair with homegrown talent. This has allowed the music scene to flourish and produce some amazing musicians, venues, and, of course, festivals. Right at the top of this scene is The Grass is Greener festival. W[/three_fifth_last]
ith homegrown talent always in mind, this years line up includes Hayden James, The Jungle Giants, Safia and Darude. Even the name of this festival is a tribute to Northern Australia’s music scene, poking fun at the saying ‘The grass is always greener on the other side’, this innovative festival wants to show people that the grass is actually pretty green in Far North Queensland.
Not only is this festival dedicated to supporting local talent, but it is also dedicated to supporting and protecting something locals hold very close to their hearts, The Great Barrier Reef. The guys running the show work closely with the charity GBR Legacy, which operates the reef’s only independent research vessel, using collaboration and innovation to connect the community with science through multimedia and education future custodians of the reef.
So if you love home grown Australian music, tropical weather, and helping support The Great Barrier Reef, there is only one place to be this October.
