9-Day Island Hopping In West Coast Thailand

Your trip begins the second you land in Phuket. Thailand’s largest island, that easy pace we mentioned starts with hotel check-in and beach or pool relaxation – the choice is yours. You have a further two full days on Phuket to take it all in. Go in search of caves in a canoe, take a trip to Ko Tapu (otherwise known as James Bond Island), and explore the different sides to Phuket town. Wildlife enthusiasts are also catered for with the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project, and foodies can dive straight into Pad Thai and green curries.

On the morning of day four, it’s time to say goodbye to Phuket to jump on the ferry to Koh Phi Phi, one of Thailand’s most famous islands for its underwater adventures. The filming location for Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Beach (yes girls, the man himself has stepped foot on this island), not only is it naturally beautiful, there’s a ton of stuff to do. Just like Phuket, you have two full days to enjoy Koh Phi Phi. With no time to waste, you can choose the add-on cruise around the island stopping at the hotspots of Maya Bay and Monkey Beach, before hiking to the highest point on the island and enjoying the sunset over the Andaman Sea.

Leave Koh Phi Phi on the morning of day seven for the ferry to Krabi. There’s beautiful scenery here that you can enjoy from all corners, including the 1,260 steps up the Tiger Cave temple, the small island of Rai Leh Beach, and the idyllic town of Ao Nang, where you can also enjoy a beach massage and immerse yourself in local life. There’s plenty of opportunity for an ice-cold beer or two, before you return to Phuket on day nine where this island-hopping adventure ends.
