As one of the leading lights of house and techno, Alex Niggemann has announced his return to Australia after a stellar 2014 which proved to be a bit of a breakout year for the popular German.
When it comes to Chicago and Detroit, the Berlin-born Niggemann, knows exactly how to balance out the two, deftly mastering minimal techno with fluid, vocal-heavy house. Over the past decade, he has paved his way to a remarkable career as a DJ and producer. With a string of releases and remixes on labels including Poker Flat, Compost Black Label, Get Physical, Tsuba, Supernature, 8bit, and his own imprints AEON and Souldfooled, he is responsible for arguably the biggest track of 2014 “Materium.” Clocking in at #3 on Resident Advisor’s Top 50 Track of the Summer, it is regarded as one the most played songs of the Summer – and with good reason.
This time last year, Niggemann toured with the Ibiza-cum-global party brand Flying Circus alongside Audiofly, Tiefschwarz and Star:Cue for two epic shows in Sydney and Melbourne. If you’re yet to discover the gem that is Alex Niggemann, now is the perfect time.
