The Strypes Reveal Debut Album Details
It seems rhythm and blues is undergoing a bit of restoration, it’s being revamped and rightfully reintroduced to a new generation of music lovers all courtesy of Irish foursome, The Strypes.
With high-profile names such as Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher and Dave Grohl expressing their appreciation for the group and a slot on Later with Jools Holland to boot, it seems the band are set to be a success. “I saw…The Strypes recently and it was just ‘Wow’. The guitarist is fucking amazing. Really raise my game that did”– Paul Weller
‘Snapshot’ the début album, is set for release 20th September 2013 and can only be described as a musical throwback, inspired by the rhythm and blues greats such as The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, Chuck Berry and Howlin’ Wolf. The Strypes producer also worked with The Beatles and the Sex Pistols and Chris Thomas. The album oozes an authentic sense of originality and passion for the genre, whilst at the same time sounding relevant to the current market. The Independent described the band as “Feverishly intense, raw and compelling”, whilst NME expressed “The Strypes are too good to be ignored”.
‘What A Shame’ is the first single to be released from ‘Snapshot’ and has already been well received. The Strypes will also be acting as support on the five-time Brit award winning Arctic Monkeys on their UK and German tours.
