From 20th August until 20th September, visitors to the Arc One gallery on Flinders Lane can view the works of Lyndell Brown, Charles Green and Jon Cattapan as they look at war and peace in Spook Country. The exhibition focuses on the globalised networks that support and sustain conflict, and then the aftermath of conflict. Arc One will proudly present the artworks by these Australian War Artists, as they collaborate together for the first time on sites of conflict.

Bad Frankie

If you’re a fan of jaffles (sandwich toasties) and rum, you should head down to Bad Frankie. Dedicated to the lost era back when small pot stills were outlawed by Governor of Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania), John Franklin, you can combine The Chook with the Fitz Roy for a marriage made in heaven.

Forgotten Worlds

things to do in Melbourne

Arcade games may not be the most typical entertainment in a bar, but Forgotten Worlds has cottoned onto a trend that combines Mortal Kombat with canned beer, burgers and the friendliest crew in Collingwood. What would once have been considered a haven for nerds is a cool but modest bar, not unlike a boys’ house share, to while away a few hours.
