Backpacking Tips for Australia
Have you ever considered a backpacking trip around friendly and relaxed Australia? Perhaps you have already visited a few times but now want to see more of this beautiful country. Backpacking is in fact a great way to see lots of Australia, and have tons of exciting experiences, on a budget.
Even if you are travelling alone then you definitely won’t be the only traveller and the people you meet at hostels may even become close friends.
One of the advantages of backpacking is that you can make your own schedule and create your own route that will lead you to some hidden gems that will make you want to stay even longer. One of these gems is the Royal National Park where you can go for some picturesque walks from Bundeera to Marley or Otford to Bundeera. The beaches are secluded, peaceful and remote, giving you the picturesque environment to relax and forget about the stresses of everyday life.
You can even camp in the National Park if you have your own camping gear, although bare in mind that there are certain park rules. Alternatively, if you fancy hanging out with some other travellers then you can try a number of Bundeera hostels. The following day you should take a walk towards Jibbon Head where you can see some aboriginal rock art and take some photographs by the ocean.
If you prefer a livelier environment then Byron Bay is one of the more popular destinations. You can soak up some sun, chill and relax on the beach and experience the vast night life. You will never be short of things to do with scuba diving and hand gliding available daily. Consider staying at Cape Byron Hostel, which has a heated pool or Nomads Hostel, both of which are clean and comfy.
Australia is a large and beautiful country that is just waiting to be explored. The best way to explore it is by backpacking, and, if you do find a particularly lovely location, then you could always turn your trip into a working holiday as long as you remember to change your visa.
