Backpacking Tips For Vietnam

Follow us on Google News

Vietnam is no stranger to backpackers and it is easy to see why. It is a hidden gem of a place with lots of natural beauty, clear seas and white sandy beaches. There is also lots of greenery which has lead to it being compared to parts of Europe.

These numerous World Heritage sites are a must see; Phong Nha Ke, Bang Caves, Hoi An Ancient Street and Cham Island are very beautiful but Halong Bay is a must see location with the most to offer. You can spend hours exploring the limestone islands and weathered rock formations and caves. In the daytime take a boat tour such as Indochina Junk for a whole day on the sea or Paradise Cruise, which is a more luxurious experience. At night you can stay at the Ha Long Bay Hostel, which is clean and close to local amenities. You can then tour the caves such as the Dall Go Cave and Dang Thier Cing Cave and look how the stalactites and stalagmites have naturally formed.

The beaches do attract the majority of the tourists as they are ideal places to relax and there is enough to entertain even the most restless traveller for days. Hai An is a stunning location with gorgeous white sand and after a day soaking up the sun you can take part in activities such as sand surfing for a quick adrenaline rush. When you are ready to cool off you can tour many of the Buddhist temples in the area and enjoy some traditional tea. Stay at House Backpackers which has balconies, windows and a bright welcoming feel or Sacho Homestay and Hostel which has a garden, shared area and private space.

Vietnam is also known as a place where people know how to party. In the Buddhist religion there are so many festivals that barely a few weeks go by without one. Tet holiday is where the people celebrate the love they had for their ancestors. Bai Dinn Pagoda Festival, Huang Pagoda festival and many more are a great way to meet local people and experience the vibrant culture. A trip to Vietnam can leave you feeling spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically relaxed and ready to take on any new challenge.
