1. Port Hedland Visitor Centre
Port Hedland Visitor Centre has a wide range of souvenirs for you to purchase. Staffed by old hands of the town, the venue hosts a weekly event called ‘Tales of Hedland’, where stories and experiences of the town are shared by community members who have a wide knowledge of the town and surroundings. This is also the departure point for BHP Industry Tour and the Local Town and History bus tours.
2. Roebourne
Horse racing has been an annual social event since 1867 at Roebourne. The Nor-West Jockey Club is the second oldest race-club in Western Australia and conducts four race meetings every year in June and July. The Roebourne Racecourse is situated just one km east of the Roebourne township. It boasts of a full bar and catering, TAB, bookmakers, live entertainment and traditional two up after the last race on Cup Day.
