Daft Punk Get Lucky with 100m Spotify Streams
Just when you thought that Daft Punk couldn’t get any better they have. Get Lucky has officially passed the mark for 100 million streams on Spotify.
It also holds the record for the most played song in a 24-hour period. The track featuring Pharrell Williams has been successful on other platforms too, particularly Youtube where it has been viewed over 112 million times. The song has topped the charts in 55 countries since its release in April and has already created the status of a classic.
The new statistics that have come in make the future look optimistic with the forthcoming release of Lose Yourself To Dance, which will also feature Pharrell Williams. The track is released on 23rd September 2013 and has been said by Williams himself to have a stronger ’80s feel to it.
The French duo, Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem Christo, have been crafting music since the late ’80s and have kept people dancing since. They are known for their dedication to anonymity, and have been rocking iconic helmets with amazing lights since 2001. Sadly Daft Punk have suggested that it would be impossible to our their new album, Random Access Memories, which comes as a surprise to fans who are used to spectacular visual performances.
