Earthcore Festival Returns In 2014
Australia’s most beloved outdoor Electronic music festival, Earthcore, returns with a bigger line-up than ever, taking over Pyalong, Victoria from 27th November – 1st December.
Five days across five stages, the best in Trance, House, Techno, EDM and Psychedelic will come together for another huge event combining music with culture, art and lifestyle. This epic experience enables you to indulge all your senses with outstanding live music and DJ sets, colour and light installations, and the replenishment of the Elemental Planet, where expressive movement and chill out music are parts of everyday life, just like water, earth, fire, air and spirit.
As your temporary home for the duration of the event, there will be food to satisfy any hunger and a range of accommodation to get well rested for the following day. From vehicle camping to pitching a tent or glamping, there’s something to suit even the lightest of sleepers.
While much more than a music festival, Earthcore draws the best in the business to its stages. This year sees the likes of Astrix, Format: B, and 1200 Micrograms, plus many more international acts, that are sure to blow your minds.
Astrix
One of the most popular DJs in the world, Astrix does what no one else can, and makes music that appeals to both underground and mainstream audiences with refined melodies, progressive House and a splashing of vocals for good measure. Whether spending time in the studio or touring the globe, he is incredibly smart about every set and includes every single listener and member of the audience, from those that have just discovered him to dedicated fans. Since debut album ‘Eye To Eye’ all the way to his free downloads under ‘Trance For Nation’, he has been at the forefront of the production industry, hence why has been chosen for festivals such as Tomorrowland, Burning Man and BAT, and why he will be heading to Earthcore this year.
Format: B
German duo, Franziskus Sell and Jakob Hildenbrand, started Format: B together after studying to be sound engineers and discovering they shared a love of all things Techno. Together, they have toured Asia, Australia, USA, South America and Europe, released several hit singles and formed their own label, Formatik Records. With a studio in Berlin, they recorded their second album, ‘Restless’, in 2011 and hold label nights in the local Watergate Club. Bouncing off of each other on stage and an enigmatic sight to watch, they are not to be missed when they hit up Earthcore later in the year.
1200 Micrograms
One of the most colourful Psy Trance acts in the world, 1200 Micrograms is the formation of GMS with Raja Ram and Chicago. A thrill to watch live on tour, the group have given us three albums heavily influenced by history and pop culture, featuring samples from ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and ‘The Matrix’, and themes including inventors and scientists and places of the past. A group that produces tracks about Einstein, Da Vinci and Stonehenge is one that you should definitely witness.
