Lulu James – Closer
This almost feels like one of those mid 90s R&B/Garage tracks we all used to obsess over. It’s in the same vein as AlunaGeorge, but with the added feeling of nostalgia, Lulu James could easily be next in line.
Women’s Hour – To The End (Boxed In Remix)
Boxed In have managed to rework the sound of To The End by Women’s Hour in to a funky sounds catalog of rhythms and melodies. The resonating vocals sound crisp, and its pulse is a joy to have playing through your speakers.
Hiatus – We Can Be Ghosts Now ft. Shura
Shura’s vocals on ‘We Can Be Ghost Now’, compliment the glassy sounds of Hiatus’ new single seamlessly. The tracks steady beat allows for easy access and it will take you on a journey through a wonderful arrangement of refined beats and echoes that will certainly leave a good impression on any listener.
Dems – Desire
London based trio Dems have returned to our speakers with this stunning new dream-like single entitled ‘Desire’. Its beautiful arrangement of strings, beats and clicks pulse along wonderfully and conjure up a feeling of weightlessness as you drift along with the gorgeous swirly synth sounds. The delicate vocals gently pierce through the echoing tones and keep your ears tentatively attached to this mighty impressive track.
Telling – Stella
In this less-is-more approach to the Bertie Blackman’s song ‘Stella’, Telling have produced a deep, haunting version that sounds wholesome against a tickling backing track made-up of mostly orchestral stabs and bass notes. The baron song, which doesn’t even hint at a single drum hit, is more suited to a ballet than the radio. Violins pirouette around keyboard notes that swiftly build amongst a flurry of padded climaxes. It’s a gorgeous track that you’ll enjoy over and over again.
