Explore Antibes
Ah, the French Riviera. There’s nothing better than eating fine cheese and sipping wine whilst watching the dreamy sunsets over the Mediterranean
Situated between the vibrant city of Nice, and the glitzy destination of Cannes, explore Antibes: the cultural heart. Slightly less well known, this ancient town has the history, the art, and the best restaurants in the Côte d’Azur. Much of the old town has retained original character with quaint cobbled streets, dotted with street cafes, bistros and bars for a refreshing drink. If you want the true taste of rustic Provencal France, explore Antibes, you’ll love this little gem.
Visit the Musée Picasso and the sculpture gardens: this museum showcases where Picasso lived, painted and found inspiration for his art. Antibes is truly a magical place and it’s best to explore on foot. The coastal region and the Cap is very romantic under a full moon, and although the beaches are fairly crowded in the summer months, they are still pleasant.
For beach fanatics however, glamourous Juan les Pins further down the coast holds more spacious and longer stretches of fine sand along with beach bars to grab a cocktail. It is easily reachable via taxi, bus or train from Antibes. However, do be aware that the prices of food and drink are a fair bit steeper than in Antibes, so be sure to explore some of the lanes further away from the hotels to find the best deals – and some pretty decent pizzerias too!
Explore Antibes’ famous port is worth walking around; admire the premier and most attractive sailing yachts in the world. Wander around the covered markets selling local produce, fresh provencal delights and unique souvenirs; a fantastic place to get your croissants and watermelon for petit déjeuner.
Antibes is home to regular firework displays in the summer months, and the world-famous jazz festival – Jazz a Juan. With many boutiques and authentic gift shops, Antibes has great shopping potential too.
With beautiful architecture and plenty of hotels, campsites and self catering accommodation on offer, you can find your perfect place to stay very easily.
