Fairgrounds Festival 2015
Embrace your inner child at Fairgrounds Festival, a new boutique festival in Berry, where musical talent is combined with local artisan food and amusing games to create a magical experience.
Drive or take a coastal bus or train down to Berry on the Friday 4th December, when the fun kicks off with an outdoor cinema showing of Hayao Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro. Come Saturday, Berry will showcase Fairgrounds Carnival, with a lineup including the likes of rocktronica duo Ratatat and psych-folk singer Jessica Pratt. Make sure you sample the locally produced food and beverages, carefully handpicked for the festival.
Fairgrounds is also home to ‘Playgrounds’, a mini festival within a festival with attractions such as a magical planetarium dome and a hale bale maze sure to provide hours of fun. The activities are not only for kids though, with egg and spoon races and games of Twister continuing throughout the day.
Round off the weekend with a visit to the famous Berry Market on Sunday 6th December, a free monthly event with over 200 stalls selling handmade products, arts and crafts, locally grown produce and collectables. Alternatively, explore the surrounding beauty, such as the idyllic Werri Beach, just a 15 minute drive from the festival.
The current line-up includes C.W. Stoneking, Father John Misty, Jessica Pratt, Mercury Rev, Ratatat, Royal Headache, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, with more to be announced.
