Big Daddy Kane is a Brooklyn, New York M.C. who undisputedly defined the term “lyricist” in the world of hip-hop. He is on his way to Australia for the first time, riled up and ready to hit The Espy in Melbourne on the 4th of October. With only one date scheduled this is sure to be a sell-out, so be prepared. Along with the lyrical ingenuity he brought to the genre, he also introduced innovative live performances as well. His stage name “Kane” was an acronym for King Asiatic Nobody’s Equal. In 1984, he met Biz Markie, and the two struck up a friendship. Kane would go on to co-write some of the Biz’s best-known raps, and both eventually became important members of the Queens-based Juice Crew, a collective headed by renowned producer Marley Marl.

Proving that he is a full entertainer, and that he is a man of many talents, Kane has made a few appearances on the big screen in the movies “Posse” “Meteor Man” “Dead Heist” “Brown Sugar” and “Gunmen.”. He was also the first rapper to pose for Playgirl Magazine and was featured in Madonna’s famous Sex Book, along with Modonna and internationally renowned super model Naomi Campbell during the 1990s.
