Fraser Island 3 Day Tour
White beaches, crystal clear lakes, mangroves and rainforests… Fraser Island is one stop off on an East Coast adventure that just can’t be missed.
Fraser Island isn’t just beautiful though, it’s got some gravitas to it being the world’s largest sand island sporting a 75 mile long beach – aptly named 75 Mile Beach – as well as a real life shipwreck, dingos, crystal clear lakes and so much more.
So what’s the best way to see all that Fraser Island has to offer? Well, we suggest taking a group tour so you don’t miss a thing. On Dropbear Adventures 3 Day tour you can explore at ease as well as experiencing probably the best three days of your life – or at least travels!
Fraser Island Tours
On Dropbear’s 3 day tour you can either be picked up from Rainbow Beach or Noosa on the mainland. On your first day you’ll arrive on Fraser Island and will spend the morning settling into the Dropbear Wilderness Camp Site, and once that’s done it’s off to do some exploring. You’ll have the pleasure of visiting the gorgeous Lake McKenzie as well as some other lakes and also the stunningly pristine beaches of the Island.
Come evening it’s time to kick back on the beach with a beer in hand and get to know your fellow travellers before a classic Aussie BBQ! Sounds idyllic right?
Day 2 sees an early start as you leave camp at 8am to see and experience even more highlights of the Island including; bathing in the bubbling Champagne Pools (a natural jacuzzi on the island), a picture perfect opportunity at the majestic Maheno Shipwreck (wrecked in 1935 by a cyclone), drive through the towering rainforests and bushland in a 4WD as well as taking to the various beaches and inland tracks in the 4WD.
Whilst on the tour you’ll also have the chance to collect and taste Wongs – an Aboriginal delicacy and also indulge in learning the art of Boomerang throwing as well as playing the Didgeridoo! Could it get more Aussie?
If you’re planning on visiting Fraser Island between July and November then you may also be lucky enough to spot some Humpback Whales before they migrate back down to the cooler waters of the south with their calves.
Due to the weather and tides on Fraser Island it’s important to bear in mind that not all these activities will be available at all times, but if the sun is shining and the tide is right all this awaits you!
