Kings Park Perth
Perched on Mount Eliza, massive King’s Park offers panoramic views of Perth CBD, The Perth Hills, and the scenic Swan River. Take a free bus from Perth’s CBD and enjoy immaculate lawns, water features and in spring you will be stunned by the native wild flower on display in their natural setting. Do not forget the Glass Bridge, and Jacob’s ladder.
Queens Park
In need of peace and quiet after visiting Perth’s bustling streets? Walk east and at Nelson Crescent you can enter Queen’s Park, entrance is free. The noises slowly fade away until there is only the chirrup of birds and the gentle gurgling of water. This spot is a popular choice for wedding photographs.
St Georges Cathedral
Facing the WA’s Supreme Court, stands St. George’s Anglican Cathedral, noted for its unique red brick exterior, amazing gothic architecture, stained glass windows and friendly guides. Listed on the WA’s Heritage Register, it is a great place to cool off in the hot WA summer. Be mindful this is an operating church and not a tourist attraction!
Water Labyrinth
A Fantastic place to take the kids on a hot summer’s day is the Water Labyrinth which was once the true center of Perth. The water sprouts move from one place to another, stopping altogether at times only to reappear within minutes. Kids love the unpredictability! Parental supervision is a must to ensure your children are safe.
South Perth Foreshore
Park your car and walk along the South Perth Foreshore, on the opposite bank Perth’s high rise buildings are on display, the view is even more beautiful when the buildings are lit up and the lights are reflected in the river. You can enjoy a coffee or tea at the many cafes and restaurants. Fishing boat can be hired. Ferry trips are also available along the Swan River, the ferries offer a limited catering service.
