Time To Climb Aboard the Farris Wheel

Global Chicago house ambassador, Gene Farris, has announced his long-awaited return to Australia for next month.

As one of the second wave house artists during the 90s, Gene grew up listening to legends like Lil’ Louis, Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy. Joining labels such as Slam’s Soma Recordings, Green Velvet and Cajmere’s Cajual Records, Relief Records, and Defected Records, he eventually established his own breakout label Farris Wheel Recordings. No stranger to high placings in music charts around the world, Gene produced 3 number 1 hits in 2014 alone, and has worked closely with fellow Chicago house legend Cajmere, a.k.a Green Velvet, resulting in over 15 collaborative singles, and “O’Darlin” from their 2014 Jungle Love EP on Cajual, clocked in at number one on TraxSource. With his smash song “Move your Body,” from the same year, finding the support of artists such as Carl Cox, Gene has gone on to play at some of the biggest festivals globally such as Coachella, Outside ands, Firefly, BPM, Movement and WMC.

Off the back of his newly released album ‘In the Screen’, which features a impressive list of collaborations, Gene Farris has announced his highly anticipated return to our shores for the first time in 3 years. Kicking things off on Friday 12th August at Geisha Bar in Perth, Gene will continue back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday at Sydney’s premier night spot Chinese Laundry and Melbourne’s notorious Revolver.
