Glastonbury Provides Festival Goers With Wifi
For the first time, and with a neat set-up, the guys at Glastonbury will be providing wifi to all attendees.
Michael Eavis, the event’s organiser, has converted one of his tractors into a 4G wifi hotspot. Travelling around the site during the whole weekend, the vehicle has been fitted with equipment courtesy of mobile operator EE, so those within 10 metres of the tractor can access the Internet while sitting in the middle of a field.
Of course, if you’ve even bothered to bring your mobile to the festival, there’s a strong likelihood that it will have run out of battery half-way through the first day or been nicked. Besides, what do you need the Internet for when you’ve got your mates, live music and endless amounts of booze? And if you wanted to use it to keep an eye on the weather forecast, we can tell you now; it’s going to be raining. More than likely.
